2. What is an informative essay?
An essay explains, or acquaints the reader with knowledge about the topic. It uses facts and statistical information, cause and effect relationships, or examples.

Since informative essays are factual, they are written without emotion and usually written in the third person. That means that the use of the pronoun "I" is not usually found within the essay.

The main idea (thesis statement) must be narrow enough to be supported within the essay.
Each supporting paragraph must have a main supporting idea and all other sentences must relate directly to it.
Transition words or phrases are important as they help the flow and reinforce the logic.

The first main religion of South West Asia is Christianity. Christianity is a religious movement that grew out of Judaism during the time of roman rule in Palestine. Jesus is the founding figure of Christianity. Jesus was believed to be the son of God. Jesus was born in Bethlehem in 4BC.Jesus grew up with a vast knowledge which attracted many people to him. This worried the Jewish leaders. Jewish leaders also claimed that Jesus was guilty of crimes against Jewish teachings. Then, the Roman ruler saw him as a threat to his authority and sentenced him to death. He was nailed to a cross and left there until he died.
