5. What’s the Assignment?!
Your boss, Mrs. Gallegos, recently won the state lottery. She has already invested some money with startup companies. However, she hasn’t connected with your market segment.
Prepare a business proposal presentation for a business selling goods or a service you believe would be a wonderful addition for her portfolio.

6. Business Proposal Components
Description of the good or service – Note: This does NOT need to be a new product!
Market Segment Analysis – Why does this group want this good or service? Refer to the database to support your response.
Conduct additional online research about the good, service or the market segment – You will need a total of three sources for this project.

7. Which segment do I have?! Work with your partner from last week!
Get assigned a Mosaic Household from the DemographicsNow database
You can access this information either through a search engine or on the Denver Library web site.

8. How do I access the Mosaic Info?
Type your demographic group into a search engine:
“American Royalty demographic”
On this example, select the second one – with the Type in the title!
(Please note – this does not always work!)

9. Denver Library steps! Logon to Denverlibrary.org
From the top select Research, then select the business database
Scroll down to DemographicsNow
Type in your library card info.
Scroll over to “Looking for Demographics”, Click on “Start Now”
In the Report Type, scroll down and select Mosaic Household Comparison
Top left select “Cilck here for Mosaic Cluster Details”
Click on the link for your Mosaic type

10. Final Step
Write an electronic business proposal which includes a minimum of three sources to support your responses. You can utilize either PowerPoint or Prezi.
Use MLA format to cite your sources in your proposal
Present your brief proposal to the class. You will only have three minutes to sell your idea!

11. Evaluation
Presentation – did you convince me? Did both partners present? Were you able to answer questions?
Effective teamwork – Each partner shared the responsibility and stayed on task during the activity
Quality of written project
Organized writing
Justified responses by referring to online sources
Used vocabulary and concepts aligned with business concepts
