General Characteristics Primary objective is to become skilled sports participants and sport persons. Class structure includes: seasons, team affiliation, formal competition, record keeping, and a culminating event. The experience students gain in class is similar to interscholastic sports except on a smaller scale. Students assume roles for their team such as: captain, coach, manager, commentator, equity officer, strength and conditioning trainer, umpire/official, statistician. To provide a sport-like experience, seasons are used rather than units. Seasons are usually longer than a typical unit.
