Characteristics of a good citizen that Derek Jeter possesses
VOLUNTEERISM: “For me when I was a kid volunteering was the last thing I was thinking about. Now it is one of the most rewarding experiences I have to offer. When I see kids doing it amazes me. It is very impressive I think all kids should take a little time out to volunteer.” Inspirational: “You are a person a lot longer before and after you are a professional athlete. People always say to me, ‘your image is this, your image is that.’ Your image isn’t your character. Character is what you are as a person. That is what I worry about.” Philanthropy: “Our Turn 2 Foundation wants to create and support programs and activities that motivate young people to turn away from drugs and alcohol and ‘turn 2’ healthy lifestyles'’. 4. Hardworking: “There may be people who have more talent than you, but there is no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do- and I believe that”
