2. Sagittal Section Divides body into right and left parts
Cut down the medial plane into equal parts= midsaggital or median section

3. Frontal Section
Divides body into anterior (front) and posterior (back)

4. Transverse Section
Divides body into superior (upper) and inferior (lower) parts

5. Dorsal Cavities (posterior)
Cranial: inside skull

Spinal: extends from cranial cavity to end of vertebral column
Spinal cord

6. Ventral (anterior) cavities
Thoracic: inside rib cage above diaphragm
Lungs, heart

7. Abdominopelvic: inferior (below) the diaphragm
Abdominal: superior
Stomach, liver, intestines
Pelvic: inferior
Reproductive organs, bladder, rectum

8. Umbilical: center (navel)
Epigastric: above umbilical
Hypogastric (pubic): below umbilical
Right and Left Iliac (Inguinal): right above hip
Right and Left Lumbar: lateral to umbilical
Right and Left Hypochondriac: contain lower ribs, lateral to epigastric
