3 What is Foodbank? Foodbanks provide 3 days of nutritionally balanced food to people in crisis, while they are engaged with another agency to resolve the underlying issues. UNDERLYING ISSUES – Eg. Debt Addiction Illness Domestic Violence Homelessness CRISIS- doesn’t just mean “poor” It can be anything from an unexpected bill, cut in benefit to a house fire or illness ENGAGED –means working with 9/4/2013 @bcfoodbank

4 Foodbank in the black country
Started in 2006, on a dining room table, provided food to 45 people that year. Demand doubled year on year and peaked in after Crisis Loans stopped. In 2017 we provided over 180,000 meals to families in crisis. Demand is rising steadily partly due to Universal Credit. Wendy’s vision. 9/4/2013 @bcfoodbank
