2 Critical Points Critical Points are those points on a graph which a line drawn tangent to the curve is horizontal or vertical. The three types of critical points are maximum, minimum, and point of inflection. The greatest value that a function assumes over its domain is called the absolute maximum. Likewise for the absolute minimum.

4 Other Info Minimum and Maximum values can also simply be relative when the graph gets larger or smaller than the minimum or maximum values. For most of the homework in this section, you will need a graphing calculator to see the various points.
