Brîff 7 Munud - Diogelwch Ar-lein Online Safety - 7 Minute Briefing

1. BETH YDYW? WHAT IS IT? Mae Diogelwch Ar-lein (a arferai gael ei alw’n ‘e-Ddiogelwch’) yn derm sy’n cael ei ddefnyddio am agenda eang sy’n datblygu drwy’r amser ac a all fod yn gymhleth, sy'n gysylltiedig ag agweddau ar-lein o risg gan gynnwys Camfanteisio'n Rhywiol ar Blant, Secstio, Radicaleiddio, Chwarae Gemau, Cynnwys Amhriodol ac, heb os, effaith y Cyfryngau Cymdeithasol – mae'n Fater diogelwch lle mae technoleg ynghlwm ag o. Online Safety (formerly known as ‘e-Safety’) is a term used to cover a broad, continually developing and sometimes complex agenda around the online aspects of risks including Child Sexual Exploitation, Sexting, Bullying, Radicalisation, Gaming, Inappropriate Content and undoubtedly, the impact of Social Media – it is a Safeguarding issue where technology is involved.

2. BETH YDYW? WHAT IS IT? Wrth i Blant ac Oedolion mewn Perygl ryngweithio gyda’r byd ar- lein yn iau o hyd, mae trafodaeth briodol mor fuan â phosib’ yn bwysig iawn. Mae Diogelwch Ar-lein hefyd yn berthnasol i oedolion/gofalwyr a gweithwyr proffesiynol, o’n cadw'n ddiogel, gan gynnal safonau proffesiynol disgwyliedig (y tu mewn a'r tu allan i'r amgylchedd gwaith) hyd at fod yn enghraifft gadarnhaol i Blant, Pobl Ifanc ac Oedolion mewn Perygl. As Children and Adults at Risk interact with the online world at an increasingly younger age, appropriate discussions as early as possible are very important. Online Safety also applies to adults/ carers and professionals, from keeping us safe, upholding expected professional standards of conduct (both inside and outside of the work environment) through to setting positive examples as role models for Children, Young People and Adults at Risk.

3. BETH YDYW? WHAT IS IT? Yn wahanol i genedlaethau’r gorffennol, ni allwn ystyried diogelwch a lles Plant, Pobl Ifanc ac Oedolion mewn Perygl yn briodol heb ystyried eu perthynas â thechnoleg. Drwy roi’r sgiliau a’r hyder i Bobl mewn Perygl weld y risgiau posib, bydd yn eu helpu i ddatblygu’n ddefnyddwyr hyderus a gwydn o’r amgylchedd ar-lein – mae diogelwch ar-lein yn sgil oes a fydd yn dal i fod o gymorth iddynt pan maent yn oedolion. Unlike previous generations, we cannot adequately consider the safeguarding and wellbeing of Children, Young People and Adults at Risk without considering their relationship to technology. Equipping People at Risk with the skills and confidence to recognise the potential risks will help them to develop into confident and resilient users of the online environment – online safety is a skill for life that will continue to support them into adulthood.

4. CYDNABYDDIAETH 4. RECOGNITION
Gwybodaeth neu Ddoethineb – mae oedolion a gweithwyr proffesiynol yn aml yn dweud bod perthynas Plant ac Oedolion Diamddiffyn â thechnoleg yn erbyn eu diffyg gwybodaeth nhw'n rhwystr mawr i gynnal trafodaethau am fod yn ddiogel yn y byd ar-lein. Knowledge versus Wisdom - adults and professionals often cite Children’s and Vulnerable Adults affinity for technology versus their own perceived lack of knowledge as a major barrier to having discussions about staying safe in the online world.

5. MATERION ALLWEDOL 5. KEY ISSUES
Er y gall ymddangos bod Plant, Pobl Ifanc ac Oedolion Diamddiffyn yn gwybod mwy am yr amgylchedd ar-lein, ni fydd ganddynt o reidrwydd y Doethineb sy'n gysylltiedig â phrofiad oes. Mae cymryd gofal wrth rannu pethau fel oedolion hefyd yn bwysig – gyda’r bwriad gorau, gallai rhannu stori sydd heb ei gwirio, yn enwedig rhai sy’n dod o'r Cyfryngau Cymdeithasol, gael effaith groes i’r un a fwriadwyd. Whilst Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults may appear to have more Knowledge about the online environment, they will not necessarily possess the associated Wisdom that comes through life experience. Being careful what we share as adults is also important – with the best of intentions, sharing an unverified story, particularly those picked up from Social Media, can have the opposite effect to that intended.

6. SUT I YMATEB 6. HOW TO RESPOND
A yw eich sefydliad chi’n mynd i’r afael â Diogelwch Ar-lein yn rhan o’i ddarpariaeth Ddiogelu? A ydych chi’n deall eich rhwymedigaethau proffesiynol a’ch codau ymddygiad? Bod yn broffesiynol chwilfrydig – a ydych chi’n ystyried agweddau ar-lein yn eich rôl o ddydd i ddydd fel mater o drefn? Does your organisation address Online Safety as part of its Safeguarding provision? Do you understand your professional obligations and codes of conduct? Being professionally curious - do you routinely consider online aspects in your day-to-day role?

7. GWEITHREDU ACTION Peidiwch â gadael i’r dechnoleg eich rhwystro (cofiwch mai Diogelu yw hyn o hyd). Sicrhewch eich bod yn canolbwyntio ar y Plentyn/Oedolyn – gallai rhywbeth sy’n ymddangos yn eithaf dinod i oedolyn ar y cychwyn fod yn fater bywyd i blentyn neu oedolyn diamddiffyn. Siaradwch ag arweinydd Diogelu yn eich sefydliad ynglŷn â’ch pryderon Do not be put off by the technology (remember it remains Safeguarding). Ensure you are child/ Adult- centric in your approach – what may not initially appear to be a significant concern to an adult could be a life-changing issue for a child and vulnerable adult. Speak to the safeguarding lead in your organisation regarding your concerns
