DARPA: Program managers opinion of what’s important for DoD, need to do demos, not sure of quality of Program Manager’s opinion

Plan on serving in your career; soon!
Increasing funding: IT2 (Information Technology for 21st Century) proposed by President to increase CS&E funding by 1.5X
Once per year opportunity
Write letter, call congress representative and senator saying you support IT2 and in your view 1 sentence how more research could help your district/state (jobs, training, …)

Community acts as if OS services, file systems work very well, and the problem is performance
No one outside the community thinks performance is the problem
Does anyone inside the OS community really believe performance is the primary problem???
