2. Guion Bluford
Guion Bluford is an African-American astronaut, scientist, and pilot. I chose Mr. Bluford because I am very interested in fighter jets in the United States Navy. Guion Bluford didn’t just fly the killer fighter jets, he was an aerospace engineer, and he also became the very first African-American to enter what is know as outer space.

3. Guion Bluford
Bluford made history on August 30, 1983, when he became the first African American to experience space travel. Bluford was a specialist for mission STS-8 aboard the space shuttle Challenger. On October 30, 1985, Bluford made his second trip to space as a specialist for mission STS 61-A aboard Challenger.
Guion Bluford compiled a total of 688 hours in space, the distinguished astronaut retired from both NASA and the Air Force in 1993.

4. Guion “Guy” Bluford- Awards
Bluford was inducted into the International Space Hall of Fame in 1997, and the United States Astronaut Hall of Fame in 2010.

5. Guion “Guy” Bluford
Guion “Guy” Bluford was the first African-American to travel space. By doing this Bluford broke the boundaries for other African-Americans to enter space travel.
I believe Guion Bluford did extraordinary things for the world. He broke many barriers. He achieved so much all while maintaining a personal life.
