Read the TITLE.
Ask yourself “What type of data is in the table/chart/graph?”
Read the HEADINGS.
a. Across the bottom (x-axis)
Down the sides(y-axis)
Read across the ROWS.
Answer the QUESTIONS.

What happens to the amount of sales as the temperature increases?
How much total sales were made?

1. On what day of the week do people eat the most potatoes?
2. What day of the week do they eat the least amount of potatoes?
3. How many more kilograms of potatoes do people eat on Saturday then on Thursday?

What is the students’ most/ least favorite after school activity?
How many students play sports?
How many more students like to earn money than participate in school clubs?
