3 When we worry, we are not living in the present. We are preoccupied
When Jesus uses the phrase “do not worry”, it can also be translated “do not be distracted”. When we worry, we are not living in the present. We are preoccupied with “what could be?” or “what if ?” instead of on The God who IS.

4 Luke 10: 41-42 41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered,
“you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

5 Health Costs of Worry Fatigue, Muscle Aches, Muscle Tension
Headaches & Short-term Memory Loss Rapid breathing & Shortness of breath Suppression of the Immune System Nausea & Digestive disorders Heart disease, Heart attack, or Stroke

6 fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future.
“Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity. Do not misunderstand me danger is very real, but fear is a choice.”

7 Jesus makes the comparison with the “natural and effortless” provision that goes into birds receiving food and the flowers forming to assure humans, who are made in God’s image, that He will provide for us, too. We don’t have to worry.

12 Isaiah 41: 10 & 13 10  “So do not fear, for I am with you;     do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand… 13 For I am the Lord your God     who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.’”

13 By focusing fully on God and His Kingdom there just simply isn’t any room left for anxiety, pride, selfishness, jealousy, anger, or other negative thoughts & emotions. That’s why we are encouraged throughout the New Testament to be “full” of the Spirit’s Presence & influence in our lives.

14 If we can’t identify what it is
“Fear Factors” 1.) Fear of Loss 2.) Fear of Failure 3.) Fear of Rejection 4.) Fear of Unknown If we can’t identify what it is that we truly fear, we will struggle to overcome it.

15 and Faithfulness to win this battle!

16 which transcends all understanding,
Philippians 4: 6-7 6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,  will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

17 “Fear is a Liar” by Zach Williams
