Why are we studying this?
This project will help us to understand - life under water - why we should protect it (UN Goal) - Chihuly’s sculptures We will learn how to - create an inverted image - create a pulled string print - recycle plastic to create sculptures

Create a drawing of a jelly fish using white pencil on black paper
Things to remember… Sketch basic shapes lightly first Keep your lines “fluid” Add as many details as you can see Add tone

Create a Pulled string Print
Things to remember… Fold your paper first Dip / paint the string Lay it on one side of your folded paper and keep the ends of the string sticking out Fold the paper and hold it down- use a book / card to help Pull the string while pressing down Open to reveal your print / painting

Things to remember… Cut plastic is sharp- BE CAREFUL OF THE EDGES!!!! Be patient- take your time Start with the “head / body” Then attach the tentacles
