3. March 2002 Police checks on people working with children.
In March 2002 the checking of Police records of those working with children and vulnerable adults was introduced.

4. Facebook 2004, Twitter 2006 Internet went public in 1989
My space started in August 2003 and these followed.

5. 1 July 2007
Since July 2007 smoking is banned inside pubs, bars, restaurants and other public buildings in England. A smoking ban in England, making it illegal to smoke in all enclosed work places in England, came into force on 1 July 2007 as a consequence of the Health Act 2006.

6. Sept 2014
On 1st September 2014 the European Union brought in a law banning the sale of vacuum cleaners above 1600 watts.
