Today’s State Updates Long Term Care Facility Evacuations underway in North Carolina and VA Eastern Region Update your bed availably NOW and daily by 0830am and 3pm State managed shelters: The Governor of Virginia has ordered the opening of State Managed Shelters with Medical Staffing Central Region: VCU Siegel Center in Richmond, VA. /12/18 Activating mandated Statewide Sit Reps. Beginning tomorrow 3PM

RHCC OPERATIONS READINESS TO TRANSITION TO EMERGENCY OPERATIONS
Common Operating Picture – Bi-directional comms Avoid reaching out to individual staff for emergent issues: Utilize VHASS Event Log TO ALL RHCC STAFF – RHCC Hotline - Urgent/Emergent

Hospital specific At this point only VA facilities have begun hospital evacuations, to alternate VA facilities Can not rule out additional pre-landfall evacuations Be ready to implement surge and immediate bed availability Should a civilian hospital evacuation occur, we will be working within Emergency Operations Please remember evacuations may not be feasible DURING the event, prepare to shelter in place Review your Supply chain – post storm / road outage effects Communication – crisis radio , have desk set in command center ready as well If you are transferring to make bed availably please track these movements and notify RHCC Plan for prolonged staffing / sheltering / feeding Transportation resources may be altered during and post-event If you have DIALYSIS units in hospital please make sure you are updating the dialysis specific bed status as well

Post storm concerns This is being called a “Marathon Event”
Increase delayed Dialysis needs RHCC will monitor Vulnerable Populations and provide updates as needed.

Long Term Care Facilities
Pre-landfall Evacuations are actively occurring Monitor VHASS and SMS Alerts for critical developments. Central likely to receive residents. Inter-region evacuations will be communicated to you through the Coalition. Be prepared to use resident tracking system. Be prepared to implement surge plans Keep LTC Status Board updated with current bed availability.

Dialysis Ensure Safety/Disaster Messaging with clients
Educate on the need for 3 day kits Have clients review alternate transport options Relay greatest desire is for patient to get to clinic / stay out of hospital Status board updates Absenteeism Facility open /closed Updated IN REAL TIME post-storm (not just for the 0830am/3pm mandate)
