Help From God’s Word Last week we discussed memorizing God’s word so it is ready in your heart when you need it. Let’s consider times when we desperately need the word of God. It can be of tremendous help when we are experiencing loss, sorrow, depression, and anxiety.

Help For Our Troubled Souls
Psalm 119:25 – “My soul cleaves to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.” In what ways do our souls cleave to the dust?

Help For A Sorrowful Soul
Psalm 119:28 – My soul weeps because of grief; Strengthen me according to Your word.

Help For A Languishing Soul
Psalm 119:81 – “My soul languishes for Your salvation; I wait for Your word.”

Comfort For Times Of Anguish
Psalm 119:49-50 – “Remember the word to Your servant, in which You have made me hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, that Your word has revived me.” God’s word bring hope in times of affliction.

Revival When We Are Afflicted
Psalm 119: – “Look upon my affliction and rescue me, for I do not forget Your law. Plead my cause and redeem me; revive me according to Your word.”

Seeking God’s Mercies Psalm 119:156 – “Great are Your mercies, O Lord; revive me according to Your ordinances.”

Seeking Divine Comfort
Psalm 94:19 – “When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations delight my soul.”

Security In The Deepest Dark Valley
Psalm 23:4 – “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me.” Not death here – but death- like shadows. Deep, dark, valleys that make us anxious and afraid.

Knowing The God Of All Comfort
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

God Helps Even When We Are Depressed
2 Corinthians 7:6 – “But God, who comforts the depressed, comforted us by the coming of Titus.” It is through His word that we come to know the God who cares for us and the well being of our hearts, souls, and minds.
