CHRISTMAS IN GREAT BRITAIN

25 December British people celebrate Christmas on 25th December . Christmas Eve isn’t important day for them, but many people in Britain have special parties at workplaces before Christmas.

Christmas cards People also send Christams cards with traditional Christmas symbols: Santa Claus, angels, holly and snowman or send wishes online.

Shop Shops are decorated for Christmas and people do their Christmas shopping, buying Christmas presents for family and friends.

Christmas tree Families decorate a Christmas tree with lights and colorful ornaments.

Midnight mass Many people go to midnight mass in church at night on Christmas Eve

Presents On Christmas morning people open their presents. Families try to spend this day together and celebrite with special food.

Food Roast turkey with vegetables Mince pies
Christmas pudding with dried fruit served with brandy burning on it

Paper crackers Children pull paper crackers witch contain paper hats, jokes and small toys inside and make a laud bang.

Boxing day The next day after Christmas is called BOXING DAY. Big shops start their sales and a lot of people go shopping.

Carols and Christmas song
At Christams period people sing and listen to carols and special Christmas songs. The most popular Christmas carols are „Good King Wenceslas”, „Come, All ye faithful” and „Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”.
