Select courses carefully, while keeping in mind the guidelines for schedule changes. June 3, 2015, is the deadline for schedule change requests.

Which plan will I be on? White Settlement ISD students will begin on the Distinguished Level of Achievement (DLA). This plan Provides the greatest flexibility for students after graduation Offers students an opportunity to earn an industry standard certification Ensures that students have taken the courses necessary to pass the new Texas Success Initiative college entrance exams

What is an Endorsement? An endorsement is a focused study in an area of interest to the student, as outlined by TEA. Each endorsement requires four credits in the same subject field with at least one being advanced. There are five endorsement areas: Arts and Humanities Multidisciplinary Business and Industry Public Services Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM)

Weighted Courses For determining rank in class and honor graduate status, including valedictorian and salutatorian, the semester grade for each course will be multiplied by the following weighting standards: Advanced Placement Course Pre-AP Course, Dual Credit & Honors Regular The weighted grades will not be shown on the academic achievement record (transcript) or report card.

Class Rank Top Ten Percent Law
If graduating in the top 10% and completing the requirements for the Distinguished Level of Achievement (DLA), you are guaranteed admission to any Texas state college or university. The University of Texas at Austin is only required to admit students in the top 7%. INCOMING FRESHMEN MUST GRADUATE ON THE DLA IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR AUTOMATIC ADMISSION.

College Timeline Class of 2018
PSAT in October ROTC and/or Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, or Naval Academies: Begin processing in the Spring of Sophomore Year.

Early Graduation Requirements
Students considering graduating in three years must notify their counselor at the end of the 10th grade. A parent conference and a permission letter from the parent for early graduation are required. Students wishing to graduate mid-term of their senior year will discuss this option with their counselor at the pre-registration conference in the spring of their junior year. Students must meet End of Course Exam requirements in order to graduate early!

BHS Summer School Students will be contacted by mail for possible summer school credit recovery. Be aware that your counselor or our principal must approve ANY summer school course outside of Brewer.
