SC2 Scope
E3 Terminology, Definitions, and Best Practices
Subcommittee 2 (SC2) is responsible for developing electromagnetic environmental effects (E3) terminology and definitions for C63 ® publications, and harmonizing the use of E3 terms with U.S. military and international standardization bodies. SC2 is also responsible for developing guidelines and best practices for application of C63 ®, other commercial, and U.S. military E3 standards.

Status: Initial Development Phase
Best Practice Guide Strawman overview created and discussed during WG.
WG membership / participation needs to be expanded to include broader participation from the Commercial sector. Current membership primarily Military background.
Chair to solicit C63 main committee membership for participation and distribute guide overview highlighting sections requiring support.

SC2 Working Group 2 Report Cont.
DoD to be polled for Commercial items that pose primary EMC concerns for Military applications.
Questionnaire being drafted for submission to DoD Service E3 leads for distribution (e.g. Military EMC Labs).

C revision 5-year update cycle in progress.
C63 definitions reviewed as provided by each SC.
Request each SC consult C63.14 when drafting definitions.
Request each SC provide updated definitions prior to balloting for review and coordination of copyright approvals, as required.
Draft standard C63.28 in development phase
Best Practice Guide strawman complete.
Additional participation needed from Commercial sector.
