The “Section 8” Housing Choice Vouchers Program offers affordable housing choices for very low-income households by allowing families to select from privately owned residences that are being made available for rent by their owner. Local municipal public housing authorities (PHA) generally pay the landlord the difference between 30 percent of household income and the PHA-determined payment standard – which is approximately 80 to 100 percent of the fair market rent (FMR).

4. What are the criteria's for assistance

the section eight program if the person goes through the enter program they will be out of poverty. The program is made to help them buy a home and section eight will make a portion of the mortgage payment every month. The home buyer program is 15 years. You will not have to pay the portion of the money back so long as you fallow the rules. You cant not let any one move in if so there income will become a part of the house hold income and the payment made by section eight will go down or it could make it so that you have to make the whole house payment.
