Unit 1. Stick selection & Hand positioning Crucial is for each player to have the correct stick Crucial is for each player to have the correct stick The proper length of the stick is determined by putting the stick in front of the players body. Unit 1. Stick selection & Hand Positioning (cntd) Next is finding out whether the player is a right handed or a left handed shooter. Normally the strongest hand/arm should be on the top of the grip so when playing one- handedly the player will have the best possible control. I.e. a right handed writer or tennis player will need to put the right hand on top and the left one half way down the shaft. This is a typical LEFT handed shooter.
