1 How to add new users to the Epilepsy12 round 3 data platform as a Designated lead

2 Adding users as a Designated lead
Designated Lead access the platform The Epilepsy12 audit team will have already pre-approved the Designated Lead for each Health Board/Trust or EEG Service on the system and allocated related user permissions to them (see user profile types guide). This guide sets out how Designated Leads can add new users to the data platform for their particular Health Board/Trust or EEG Service and allocate particular permissions to those users.

Adding another user for your Health Board/Trust or EEG Service Follow these steps to add new users to the Epilepsy12 data platform ( for your Health Board/Trust or EEG Service: Step 1 Login and on the ‘Home’ screen select the “User management” tab to be taken to that section

4 Adding users as a Designated lead
Step 2 To add a new user, select the ‘Add new button’.

5 Designated lead Step 3 Enter the details of the new user in the relevant fields, including the ‘Full name’ and ‘ ’. The suffix must end in either “nhs.net” or “nhs.uk”. (the “rcpch.ac.uk” shown here is for demo purposes) The user’s address will become their permanent Username on the system

6 Designated lead Adding another user for your Health Board/Trust or EEG Service Step 4 You will need to tick the box below the user details before you can add specific user permissions You can then set the specific permissions for the user in terms of whether they will be a ‘Designated lead’, ‘Site Editor’ or ‘Site Reader’ (see the user profiles guide).

7 Designated lead Adding another user for your Health Board/Trust or EEG Service Step 5 Finally, select the ‘Insert’ button. The user you have registered will then automatically be added to the system. The added user will then follow the password/profile set-up process, (please refer the user to the Site editor/reader password update guide).

8 Designated lead Adding another user for your Health Board/Trust or EEG Service As a Designated Lead you can also edit a user’s permissions at any time, again via the Users page. To do this, select the ‘pencil’ icon, change their role as required and click Update to confirm the change. It does of course make sense to agree the change of permissions with your colleague beforehand.
