6 ARTEMIS Projects presented
ARTEMIS Projects, – 12.30, 9 June: SMECY François Pacull INDEXYS Andreas Eckel CESAR Gerhard Griessnig SOFIA Tullio Salmon ACROSS Roman Obermaisser Smarcos Jani Mäntyjärvi

7 Questions to projects The ARTEMIS SRA targets to achieve paradigm changes in the embedded systems design and architecting: What concrete paradigm changes is the project trying to achieve? Cross-domain applicability is one of the ARTEMIS high level targets: Which domains is the project covering? How is the cross-domain objective addressed in the project? The ARTEMIS SRA sets several concrete high level targets ( c.f on page 17): To which of these high level targets does the project contribute and in what way? Innovation is one of ARTEMIS main topics: How does the project push innovation forward from the more fundamental R&D to broad industrially applicable innovations? How does the project address the Standardisation, Education and Tool Platform ambitions described in the ARTEMIS SRA?

8 Logistics Break-out Sessions
Day 1: AWP break-out: For the AWP break-out we have distributed the participants equally over four groups. Day 2: SRA break-out: At the registration desk you will be able to give your preference for one of the SRA break-out sessions planned for June 10. Internet access Since we planned for focussed discussions, no internet access is provided by ARTEMIS-IA. Internet access can be obtained at your own expense at the Hotel desk.

10 Break-out Practicalities
Each group should appoint a chair and a rapporteur. Each group is free to choose its approach for the discussion “yellow notes” are available for groups that want to use a meta-plan approach. All groups are asked to deliver their output in PowerPoint on a USB stick. The rapporteur (or chair) presents the break-out outcomes in the plenary session.

11 Floor plan Ground-level
The floor plan is on the back-cover of your hand-out

12 Floor plan Basement-level

13 ARTEMIS Sub-Programmes (ASPs)
Methods and Processes for Safety-relevant Embedded Systems Healthcare Smart Environments Efficient Manufacturing and Logistics Computing Environments for Embedded Systems Inter-networked ES for Security and Critical Infrastructures Protection Embedded Technology for Sustainable Urban Life Human-centric Design of Embedded Systems

14 DAY 1: Briefing break-out Annual Work Programme
Ideas on structure of Annual Work Programme are solicited Which parts of the structure are still valid? What should be modified and how? Specialized ideas on vertical sub-programmes are welcome Specialized ideas on horizontal sub-programmes are welcome

15 DAY 1: Briefing break-out Annual Work Programme
ARTEMIS is an innovation oriented programme Lead time to market of projects should take that into account. Are projects in vertical sub-programmes close to the market? (more Eureka alike) Are projects in horizontal sub-programmes too far from the market, resulting in too long lead-times? (more FP7 alike)

16 DAY 1: Briefing break-out Annual Work Programme
ARTEMIS is considered top-down This implies steering A volume difference between ASP’s is observed in the first two calls: Are the volume differences of ASP’s an issue? Is steering desired to control the volumes of ASPs? Should the AWP change for more horizontal sub-programmes? (sustainability could be an example of a new horizontal ASP) Should the AWP change for more vertical sub-programme’s?
