1 “come and let us walk In the light of the Lord”.
Isa 2:5

2 A Blind Man Receives His Sight
Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging. And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what it meant. So they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. And he cried out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him, saying, “What do you want Me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God. luck 18:35-43

3 35 “Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging”: 1. Sin spiritually blinds man. 2. Sin makes man sick spiritually, psychologically, and physically. 3. Sin makes man poor. 4. Forsaken from the work of the Holy Spirit. 5. Man will not have anyone to support and takes care of him. 6. Sin makes man isolated. 7. Makes man in a state of unrest / anxious. 8. Sin does not make man see God. 9. Sin makes man afraid from his past, his present, and his future.

4 1. The blind connects to the world by his ears.
36”And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what it meant”. 37 So they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. 1. The blind connects to the world by his ears. “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You”. Job 42:5 2. The multitudes around Christ initiated the blind man to hear. “You are the salt of the earth; mat 5:13 3. The multitudes have no value unless it influences the world. “but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? mat 5:13 4. The multitudes made the blind man ask them and himself. 5. If you are not able to give a sufficient answer then tell the people that Christ is passing by. “Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. col 4:6 6. Christians are nothing without leading others to the One who gathers them and the source of their hope. 7. Christians are a bridge connecting the world the Christ, their existence and their true work.

5 38 And he cried out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
1. Man realized his need of mercy. 2. Man’s realization that he is sick and blind. 3. The blind man cried out from the depth of his heart. “And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? Luk 18:7 4. the Knowledge that the true light is in Christ himself. “And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? Jon 12:46 5. The faith that you receive from Christ. “that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, Eph 3:16 6. He was able, through the crying out of his heart which is full of faith, to stop the multitudes.

6 39 Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 1. The people could not stop the blind man from crying out. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Rom 8:35 2. But all the more continued crying out “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 3. Jesus wants us to trust in Him regardless of tribulations. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” Eph 3:20 4. Jesus does not turn away one who persistently asks for mercy. “And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? luk 18:7

7 40 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him.
1. God wants us to bring people who need Him and bring Him close to Him “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.. Math 11:28

8 41 saying, “What do you want Me to do for you?”
1. Jesus knows what this man needs. 2. He wants us to proclaim His power. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble”. Psa 46:1 3. He needs us to tell Him what we need to be done for us. 4. He wants us to trust in Him and to believe only in Him. “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” Jon 7:38

9 41 He said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.”
1. No one told the blind man that who was talking to him is God. 2. Who led the blind man to know that it was God. 3. We derive that the blind man’s meeting with Jesus led him to this belief. 4. Faith is not true and complete unless we meet with Jesus. 5. The multitudes role was to prepare us to meet Jesus. 6. But the deep experience is gained by personally meeting with Him.

10 42 Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.”
1. The Lord grants you what you have in your heart. 2. We are not the source of Faith but God gives us as a gift if we come close to Him. 3. Meeting with Jesus made the man have a conversation with Him, trust in Him, and believed in Him. 4. The man asked only for mercy. 5. God’s mercy can been seen in our lives in many different ways.

11 43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God.
1. Jesus does not delay healing us but immediately completes it. 2. But the man realized that being healed is not the only thing he needed. 3. The man discovered what he hadn’t expected. 4. That Jesus is more important than being healed. 5. So he “followed Him, glorifying God” 6. The great and true healing is to follow Jesus.
