The first question: why should I cite?
Give credit where credit is due
Avoid plagiarism by quoting words and ideas used by other authors
To allow your readers to track down the sources that you used.
What should I cite?
Anything that is not your own original idea such as:
Books
Articles
Magazines, ads, images
Ads
Images
Videos, etc.

Plagiarism: Plagiarism is the act of using another person's words or ideas without clearly acknowledging the source of the information that you have used.

Cheating: Cheating is the attempt to gain an improper advantage on an academic evaluation

14. What is Academic Integrity?
The consequences:
First breach, any of the following:
Official Warning.
Rewrite of the test or exam or re-submit the same or alternative assignment with a reduced grade.
Grade of “0” for the assignment, test, exam, creative work or project with no opportunity to resubmit the work.
Mandatory “Academic Integrity Remediation” session at the Library.

15. What is Academic Integrity?
Subsequent breaches:
Depending on the situation, any of the above apply OR the following:
Level 2 - Grade of F in the course.
Level 3 - Course Termination (TM Grade)
Level 4 - Sanction Administrative Withdrawal from Sheridan for a period of no less than two (2) academic terms.
Level 5 - Suspension from Sheridan, with no eligibility for re-admission to any Sheridan program or courses, for a period of up to three (3) years.
Level 6 - Expulsion (lifetime) from Sheridan with no eligibility to any Sheridan program or courses.
