I want a detailed unit of work Burnet News Club provides a scheme of work on a news topic every half term and a publishing platform for students. £ The Times News Literacy programme provides downloadable lesson plans which feature real journalism. This series of 4 lessons from the PSHE Association addresses extremism and radicalisation. I want individual lesson plans The National Literacy Trust resource page has fake news lessons mapped to different subjects. ACT have lesson plans focused on reporting of terrorism in the media. I want my students to create their own news BBC news supports young people to create their own broadcast stories. The Student View places leading journalists in schools and publishes pupils’ views on their platform. £ I want display materials The National Literacy Trust’s Fake News posters help secondary students to identify fake news. I want my students to meet a media professional or see a news environment The Charlotte Project offers free interactive workshops delivered by trained journalists. The Guardian Education Centre delivers workshops on a range of topics in their London office.
