. U r going 2 get a wide angle view about the various
tools.

20. Export Tool
The main purpose of this tool is EXPORTING data from the SFX KB in different formats
And it allows SFX to work with other different applications.

This is the tab delimited file that includes issn, title and the relevant service.

24. Advanced Export Queries
This tab shows us the INTEROPERABILITY of SFX- U can choose the export in six different formats- TXT, HTML
XML or GOOGLE SCHOLAR (it’s only for journals for now, not for books).
Here u can COMPOSE/CREATE your own export.
If u have already done some kind of report and u want to add it to the export
Just upload the file and the export will be added to the existing file
It is also possible 2 choose only the needed services.

25. Advanced Export Profiles
Here u can set your own export profile. And name the profile of course and save it, so you
Won’t have to set it up every time you want to export.
This will ease up the periodical exports, running those exports will be much easier 4 u.
By using the command line u will be able to schedule exports by using the profile names
That u have set up here earlier.

26. Collection Tool
The purpose of this tool is to retrieve info about a the local collection in the KB.

27. This is a preconfigured queries: it lets us know if there is a journal existing in 2
Different services. You can find out if you have duplicates or overlaps in your collection.
Or you can find out if a journal has more than one obj. portfolio active.
U can choose 2 parallel targets and get a report.
The outcome is 3 tab delimited file, like always- the unique port for each target and the third one is the overlap

This is a very important SFX tool- it harnesses the power of SFX for your own good
The main purpose of this tool is enriching the information that u have
With the info from our updated KB.

U have only issn’s list and u need titles- use this wonderful and simple tool

36. TargetMatcher
Let me tell u a story: u have a very big KB, lots of vendors that u r subscribed 2.
BUT u DON’T KNOW which subtargets and packages u have under each vendor.
So- bottom line it can show us which services u have under each journal.
This tool is useful mostly during the implementation at the beginning of the KB set up.

37. You start with list of journals/issns/ items that you received from a vendor and you don’t know which targets belong to.
U can upload a file and match the info the file.the outcome is a file with matches between the target and the list u uploaded.
Primary key out of 4.
2 modes- U can activate or just to report.

38. Threshold Tool
With this tool we can get the most about our thresholds in the system
U can remove them, remove the local thresholds and u can just compare them

U can compare them, find overlaps, remove the local thresholds and u can remove them out of specific portfolios as well.
Of course you can upload your own file and use the existing information for managing the thresholds.

40. Category Tool
The purpose of this tool is to manage all the categories in your collection- in your local language , which is very important and effective

41. U have 4 tabs over here- setup,browse,export and loader.
The default is the first one
The other ones will give priority to the local categories
And even REMOVE the global ones- which is highly un recommendable. it’s a bit tricky because
U loose global assignments.

42. You can browse through all the categories, viewing categories for one or more objects.
It is possible to see which subcategory is in every category- just a very nice way to see it.

43. You can load up a file with already translated categories/subcategories to existing targets.
