4. Idaho’s Experience
DMV grants skills test waiver for “approved courses”
Historically—STAR Program courses
Today’s landscape
H-D Riding Academy

5. South Dakota’s Experience
Found it necessary in 2001 to update rules and regulations to allow for switch from MRC:RSS to BRC, ERC, etc.
Also required change to allow the H-D Rider’s Edge Program now H-D Riding Academy
2013 change allowed “Director of Office of Highway Safety approved curriculum”

6. Texas’ Experience Mandatory training since 2009
Road test waived for persons over 18
Historically—The BRC, HD Riding Academy
Future—add approved intermediate course

7. Virginia’s Experience
Why we had to Change from Rules and Regulations to Virginia Law
Accepting Motorcycle Course for license waiver (skills and knowledge)
Working with Military challenges and concerns

What process is in place to incorporate it into your current state safety program?
