Bansky uses stencils to do street graffiti of political and social commentary.

Banksy displays his art on publicly visible surfaces such as walls, even going as far as to build physical prop pieces. Banksy does not sell photos of street graffiti directly himself; however, art auctioneers have been known to attempt to sell his street art on location and leave the problem of its removal in the hands of the winning bidder.[8]

He began using stencils because he could get more art made in a short amount of time.

His messages are usually anti-war, anti-capitalist or anti- establishment. Subjects often include rats, apes, policemen, soldiers, children, and the elderly.

In 2004, Banksy made a quantity of spoof British £10 notes substituting the picture of the Queen's head with Diana, Princess of Wales's head and changing the text "Bank of England" to "Banksy of England."
