R2 and R3 are in parallel. I=2 R1=2 R2 =3 R3=6 V0 R4=4 R1, R23, and R4 are in series. I=2 R1=2 V0 R23=2 R4=4

4 (c) Calculate the current through each resistor.
I1 = I4 = 2 A I=2 R1=2 R2 =3 R3=6 V0 R4=4 Check: I2 + I3 = 4/3 + 2/3 = 2 A, as it must be.

5 (d) Calculate the potential difference across each resistor.
V1 = IR1 = (2)(2) = 4 V I=2 R1=2 R2 =3 R3=6 V0 Calculated in part (c). R4=4 V4 = IR4 = (2)(4) = 8 V Check: V1 + V23 + V4 = = 16 V. Agrees with part (c).
