Session: -Evaluating country data - response to the 2007 Eurostat MFA questionnaire - response to the 2009 Eurostat MFA questionnaire
2
Evaluating country data – 2007-survey
procedure: (1) identification of data gaps overview (2) plausibility e.g. wrong units e.g. variations over time series e.g. cross check with other data sources or estimations (3) consistency e.g. checking totals and sub-totals, indicators
3
Evaluating country data – 2007-survey
10 checks for plausibility: 1. DE overall: visual check of distribution of categories and their variation over time 2. DE Biomass: Straw to cereals ratio 3. DE Biomass: Fodder crops compared with demand driven estimate 4. DE Metallic minerals: metal contents of ores 5. DE Construction minerals: tonnes per capita

10 checks (cont.): 6. Imports intra-EU: Visual check of distribution of categories and their variation over time 7. Imports extra-EU: Visual check of distribution of categories and their variation over time 8. Exports intra-EU: Visual check of distribution of categories and their variation over time 9. Exports extra-EU: Visual check of distribution of categories and their variation over time 10. DPO: Comparison with US-DOE-IEA data for CO2- emissions from combustion and flaring of fossil fuels
