4. Dorothy Day "pacifism" -nonviolence is anything but neutral
-she speaks out for the persecuted
-oppose war
-her speech took the same stance as the Catholic Church
-be righteous

5. MLK Nonviolence: The Only Road to Freedom
-deep down all people know that there is a justice in the world. Most people believe that it comes from a God.
-violence puts our self-respect at stake
-love lives in everyone and it pricks
our hearts to know that violence is not
right.
-the end of violence is "redemption"

6. Similarities -peace is what we should be striving for
-violence is unjust
-a life of one's self and others are precious
-all seem to have somewhat of a tie to religion or belief that there is a God
-be righteous
