3 Being the best-kept secret sucks.
You’ve got loyal customers. You’re their first call whenever something goes wrong. Your business is reasonable, but not growing very fast. That stinks.

4 Following the rules doesn’t make you stand out.
You know what SEO is and you may have done a little bit of it on your site. You’ve followed the old playbook on how to win friends and influence people. That stinks.

5 You can’t head-fake marketing.
You’ve got a Facebook, Twitter, and blog, but you don’t update as much as you could. You’re updating, but not talking to people. Every service autopopulates the others. That stinks.

6 Tell everyone. Incentivize retweets and shares – offer discounts or free services. Follow up. Explore other avenues of in-person connection: visit schools, chambers of commerce, etc. Unstunk.

7 Be bold. Add “ruthless keywords” to your meta tags.
Search on Twitter for people unhappy with the other providers. Talk to them. Make sure your website design is punchy and easily navigated. Unstunk.

8 Talk your face off. You’re a writer, whether you like it or not.
Every blog you write is another page on your site. Everything you create can be used to bring more people on board. Unstunk.

9 Questions How can I help you unstink your marketing?
