Project Step Three: Rough Draft
Slide #1: First and last name of the person AND your name Slide #2:The date of birth, place of birth, and where they grew up. Slide #3: Early Life and Childhood. How did they grow up? Their education if they had one. Did they go to school? If so where? If not, why didn’t they go to school? Slide #4 AND #5: What are they famous for? This slide should give a lot of details. Slide #6: How did their life effect African American culture? Or, how did their accomplishments help black people? Slide #7: Works Cited (Copy and Paste from your google docs) ***You must include at least three pictures in your presentation

Grammar Check Go back to your presentation. Check that:
Each sentence has a subject and a verb. Each sentence is a complete sentence. There are capitals in the beginning of the sentence and a period at the end. Count and non count nouns are used correctly. Insert titles for every slide. Insert at least 3 pictures Feel free to insert videos in your presentation

Malcolm X Malcolm X was born on May 19, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska. He lived in Washington Heights and New York City. He was assassinated on February 2, 1965.

Childhood Malcolm X was born Malcolm Little, and his father was a leader in the Black Nationalist movement. Because of this, his father was killed and his mother was forced to give up Malcolm and his 7 siblings to foster care.

Education Malcolm thrived in the all white school he attended, getting the highest marks. It wasn’t until his teacher told him he couldn’t be a lawyer because he was black, did Malcolm turn to a life of crime. He was arrested for burglary and joined the Nation of Islam in prison.

Accomplishments Malcolm quickly became a minister in the Nation of Islam when he left prison. His abilities to speak to the common man of any faith, created a large following wherever he spoke. People were moved by his voice and his message, and he became very popular.

Accomplishments Malcolm used his influence to give his opinion on political matters like the war in Korea, and preached that it was time for the African American community to unite and change their situation, as well as learn to love themselves again.

Effects on Culture Malcolm X’s message resonated with many, including those in power. He changed the feeling in the black community from quiet protest to loud fights for human rights. His speeches and message are still very powerful today in all cultures.
