Labels :) # 1 Cell membrane # 2 Centrioles # 3 Chromatin
# 4 Nuclear membrane # 5 Centromere # 6 Spindle fiber # 7 Chromosome # 8 Cleavege Furrow Interphase Cell Division: Mitosis divides the DNA into 2 nucleus so the exact same DNA goes into each new cell. Mitosis: Prophase Metaphase Anaphase Telophase Cytokinesis
3
Interphase Interphase: The cell grows.and does its job
The cell replicates its DNA.
4
Interphase (back) : Chromosome unduplicated in G1 exists as chromatin
Chromosomes duplicated during S (still chromatin) Called Sister chromatids as long as they attached to each other
5
Prophase (front) Prophase: Chromosomes become visible
Nucleolus and Nuclear membrane break down and disappear. Centrioles move to opposite ends of the cell (poles). Spindle fibers become visible.
6
Metaphase Metaphase: Centromeres attach to spindle fibers.
Chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell
7
Anaphase Anaphase: Centromeres splits.
Sets of chromosomes separate and are pulled to opposite ends.
8
Telophase Telophase: New nuclear membrane forms.
Chromosomes begin to relax back into chromatin Mitosis is complete (2 nuclei in 1 cell) Cytokinesis is starting Cleavage furrow forms to separate the two new cells in animal cells … pinching in the cell membrane
9
Cytokinesis Cytokinesis: Divides the cytoplasm and other organelles.
Two new cells are formed… back in G1 In plant cells, cell wall prevents the formation of the cleavage furrow. A cell plate forms starting in the middle of the cell and working outward to the sides…. Cell wall forms around this.
