Prophase Metaphase Anaphase Telophase “IPMAT” Interphase includes G1,G2, and S of the cell cycle

Interphase Replication of DNA (remember central Dogma of Genetics)

Prophase Chromosomes become visable, spindle begins to form (late)
Nuclear membrane dissinegrates

Metaphase Chromosomes “line up” in the Middle

Anaphase Separation of identical chromosomes produced in replication

Telophase Two new nuclei formed after chromosomes have been pulled to the “poles”. Nuclear membrane reforms. Cleavage furrow (animals) or cell plate (plants) visable.

Cytokinesis “Splitting of Cytoplasm”
Not part of Mitosis (not part of nucleus) Two identical (but smaller) cells result
