1. Poetry We Love
DIRECTIONS: Now that we have read, annotated and discussed a few poems, you are responsible to find a published poem of your own that you find engaging or interesting for any reason.
You must use the poetry database on EBSCO, poets.org, or poetryfoundation.org.
The poem itself must be formally published and written by a fairly well-recognized author. It may be any length (up to one full page).
Once you find your poem, create a three page power point slide show that includes:
A clean copy of your poem (with author)
A piece of artwork that you feel represents a theme in your poem
An annotated copy of your poem (using Fiction Signposts)
Be prepared to share your poem and the associated artwork with the class and read it aloud during our Poetry Slam.

2. Long Yearning- By Li Bai
Long yearning, To be in Chang'an. The grasshoppers weave their autumn song by the golden railing of the well; Frost coalesces on my bamboo mat, changing its colour with cold. My lonely lamp is not bright, I’d like to end these thoughts; I roll back the hanging screen, gaze at the moon, a long sigh in vain. The beautiful person like a flower beyond the edge of the clouds. Above is the black night of heaven's height; Below is the green water billowing on. The sky is long, the road is far, bitter flies my spirit; The spirit I dream can't get through, the mountain pass is hard. Breaks my heart.
