2 Summary statement. Knights were expected to follow the code of Chivalry, a complex set of ideals. The code of Chivalry says that a knight must fight bravely for three lords; his heavenly lord, earthly lord, and his lady. In order to prepare for these tasks, a Knight must train. Training usually begins at an early age, at around seven. During training a knight is suppose to compete in tournaments, which are like real battles, but less sanguinary. In the course of a real battle a Knight is suppose to show brutality in order to defend his people. Showing brutality by assaulting the enemy very harshly.
