All of TOP Banana has been constructed by the local community to gain greater buy-in and give rise to longer-term sustainability. They have been paid 50% cash, 25% in food each day and 25% in vouchers. These vouchers are exchanged for clothing, bedding etc donated from the UK.

The Youth Centre is a a place for the entire community to come and enjoy recreational activities such as; TV / Video / DVD for films Library Choir Pool Table Drama Music system Chess Over half of the children from the local primary school attend daily after school activities. Teachers are noticing improvements in levels of concentration and confidence amongst the children.

Regular Exercise is another way of boosting the immune system
Regular Exercise is another way of boosting the immune system. We have built a gym along with simple structures on which to do exercise. Weights have been built from lengths of metal with lumps of cement on each end. This gym also acts as a focal point for us to explain the facts about HIV / AIDS, and offer counselling to men in an environment they feel comfortable in.

This playground would not look out of place on an army assault course. It is deceptively difficult and provides fun and a way for members of the community to get regular exercise (and, most importantly, strengthen their immune system)
