The Travels of Confucius
At age 30, Confucius left his job in politics to travel He taught people about value of education, self-discipline, goodness, and respect. He traveled until his death at age 72 in 479 B.C.E.

The Analects Confucius’ teachings were put together by his followers into a book “The Analects” The book is a list of morals, wise statements, and questions that Confucius taught or answered

People should try to act with… Ren: Goodness and Humanity Li: Good manners and Respect And these can only be achieved through education. People should also practice… Filial Piety: Respect for one’s rulers, parents, elders, and spouse If people practice these things, order will win out

How Confucianism Has Affected Our World
Confucius started the idea that people deserve an education and a chance to govern, not just the noble class. Confucius started the system of going to school starting at childhood, to prepare for tests, Tests would decide your status and occupation for the rest of your life. examples: doctor’s, cops Confucianism official Chinese philosophy from 206 B.C.E. to 1912 C.E., and it is still important to Chinese society today
