1 Monday November 6, 2017 Learning Target: Model the effects of human activity on groundwater and surface water in a watershed. School Agenda Monday November 8—Build aquifer in a cup Tuesday November 7—Review for DCA Wednesday November 8—DCA Part 2 Analyzing Ecosystems Science Starter: Sit with your groups for the Aquifer in a Cup project Complete pgs in your workbook and pgs

2 Aquifer in a Cup Good Things Test on Wednesday Workbook Due Wednesday
Pour sand on the bottom of your cup. (covering the bottom of the cup) Pour water onto the sand, wetting it completely. (No water on top of sand.) Flatten clay and seal off one side of the sand. Pour water onto the clay. 10 ml or so Place small rocks over the sand and clay…covering the entire container. Slope the rocks forming a hill and a valley Pour water in the aquifer until water in the valley is even with the hill. In a graduated cylinder add 10 ml of water. Add 4 drops of food coloring to the water. (Pollution) Slowly pour the colored water on top of the rock hill as close to the inside wall of the cup as possible. Observe the flow of the polluted water. Good Things Test on Wednesday Workbook Due Wednesday I will be grading pages (17-20-Notes on Weathering, Erosion and Deposition), (21-24—Goin Crusin), (26-Rocks and Weathering Reading), ( Watersheds) Ground Water Pollution Video Finish pgs 27-28 Complete plan for Aquifer (pgs Obtain signature for plan from Mrs. Hinds or Mr. Isaak. Build 1 (and only 1) aquifer per group! Complete pgs in workbook

3 Science Starter: 1. Get your chromebook and log in to Kahoot!
Tuesday November 7, 2017 Learning Target: 7.8A—Predict and describe how different types of catastrophic events impact ecosystems such as floods, hurricanes, or tornadoes 7.8B—Analyze the effects of weathering, erosion, and deposition on the environment in ecoregions of Texas. 7.8C--Model the effects of human activity on groundwater and surface water in a watershed. 7.10C—Observe, record, and describe the role of ecological succession such as in a microhabitat of a garden with weeds. Science Starter: 1. Get your chromebook and log in to Kahoot! School Agenda: Tuesday November 7—Review for DCA Wednesday November 8—DCA Part 2 Analyzing Ecosystems

4 Paper Review (turn in Wednesday for 10 points on test grade)
Good Things DCA tomorrow Workbook due Grading pgs: 17-20, 21-24, 26, 27-28 Kahoot Paper Review (turn in Wednesday for 10 points on test grade)
