1. Christmas in Iceland
This is what we think are Icelandic Christmas traditions.
By pupils from 3rd grade in Flataskoli

2. Christmas Tree
We put a Christmas tree in our living room and decorated it with many nice things and lights.
We walk around the tree and sing songs. This we mostly do at Christmas dances f.ex. at school.

3. Christmas presents
We give presents for Christmas and also get some. We open our presents on december 24th in the evening.

4. Christmas food
Around Christmas we get lots of nice food and also sweets. Not everyone have the same for their meals but a smoked (and hanged) lamb is a tradition.

5. Santa claus
In Iceland we have 13 santas. They come one by one 13 nights before Christmas. In the old days they used to be rather bad, they stole food and didn´t behave well. Now a days they have more manners and do put some little nice things in childrens shoes.
