shall regularly and periodically review and revise its Common Curriculum Goals…and rigorous academic content standards in mathematics, science, English, history, geography, economics, civics, physical education, health, the arts and second languages.
State has definite role in reviewing & revising content standards
Districts have a role and responsibility in this as well.

We are beginning a new generation of standards-based education. We can now create standards purposefully and mindful of how students best learn. We have the research to reference.
