Why Transitions? Where are they used?
Can signal that two ideas are alike or contradictory Can help you move from one idea to another Can help to organize your writing : Act as sign-posts to tell the reader where you are going. Where are they used? Used within a single paragraph to link or transition between sentences or within sentences Signal a link between paragraphs to move the reading forward or remind the reader of past content Transition between sections of long works (can be paragraphs or even whole chapters)
