Objectives for today Provide update on draft compilation report
collect feedback for finalisation of the report Draw lessons/recommendations from today’s discussion both on the report and more in- depth presentations of 3 of the selected good practices ( Fr, NL and Swe) Agree on next steps in the run up to adoption of final report on DG/TUNED meeting on 11 December, Stockholm

Follow-up meeting in February 2009, decision to draft compil report on the basis of agreed template ( criteria) scope social dialogue/involvement of trade unions preventive actions Legal background Effects/evaluation Equality and diversity Objective of collecting good practices: to “ provide concrete illustrations of the joint position and help refine lessons learned on how to combat and prevent stress at work. The cases are not intended to be definitive or to provide detailed technical guidance”. Steering group meeting in March Report to DG/TUNED June 2009 draft discussed at SDSG in July

Description of cases Most cases stem from collective agreements - EU/national/sectoral/workplace - or are indeed collective agreements, or may lead to sectoral agreements Psycho-social risk factors assessment ( Sweden, Finland, France, Spain) surveys (Austria, Czech republic) improving social dialogue, notably information and consultation of employees (Poland) guide (France, Denmark) pay systems (Finland) integration of stress matters in HRM incl. staff evaluation (Austria, Spain) stress measurement tools (Denmark, Finland) open health days, counselling, helpdesk ( Germany, Austria, Poland) Joint Service for Prevention and Protection on the Workplace (Belgium) Tailor-made solutions to unbalanced workload (Netherlands) Communication methods to manage stress/conflict situations (Sweden, France) Information campaigns, specific training on stress (various cases)

Tentative lessons/recommendations
Still a recent health and safety matter European collective agreement on stress played very important role EUPAN/TUNED agreement brings additional impetus for reinforcing or initiating further actions ( France, Estonia) ? Specificity of public sector ? Sustainability and multiplication effects of good cases? Measurement and evaluation ? ?????
