What is the difference between a parallel and series circuit? A circuit is a way for energy to flow to power something. Needs: A power source (battery), A conduction loop (wires), A load (what is being powered) Can include: A switch (to turn on and off) Resistors (to slow energy down) 2. Series circuit: only one path for the electric current to flow. Parallel circuit: more than one path for the electric current to flow. If something goes out, the other items will still get power
