Measurements taken on May 7th and 8th By Addison Liming
Initial Results of Temperature, Humidity, Pressure, and CO2 Concentrations measured in Spanish Springs over two sunrises Measurements taken on May 7th and 8th By Addison Liming
2
Purpose To measure changes in temperature, humidity, pressure, and CO2 concentrations as the sun rises To determine characteristics of the atmospheric boundary layer near the surface as it transitions from night into day To track changes in CO2 concentration near the surface as it relates to surface heating and consequent boundary layer mixing in the early morning
3
Theory CO2 concentrations are expected to be a maximum in the morning and to reach an average minimum in the afternoon when the boundary layer is more likely to be better-mixed

Preliminary Conclusions
The experiment is a work in progress! CO2 concentrations dropped from the morning of May 7th to the morning of May 8th Data taken over the entire day for a long period of time would be beneficial to understanding the subtleties of changes in CO2 during the diurnal transition A measurement location which is not sheltered from the rising sun might provide more sensitive results?
