1 RNA and Protein Synthesis
Chapter 12.3b RNA and Protein Synthesis

2 Translation Translation is the process where RNA is made into a protein. At the beginning of translation the mRNA moves into the cytoplasm and attaches to a ribosome. As the mRNA moves through the ribosome tRNA brings the right amino acid. The tRNA will release the amino acid and they will form a polypeptide chain. Each tRNA has only 1 amino acid and it also has a section of RNA that will match up to the correct part of the mRNA. This section of tRNA is called an anticodon.

4 The Roles of RNA and DNA DNA has the master plans for genes. RNA is the actually builder for those plans. One of the main reasons RNA is so important is because DNA would be broken down in the cytoplasm and proteins are made in the cytoplasm.

5 Genes and Proteins Genes are the instructions for making proteins.
Proteins are responsible for all parts of an organism. They code for every part used to make an organism.
