Eschatology The Tribulation Part 3

When? The timing of the Tribulation is absolutely dependent upon the timing of the _________. At the time when Daniel wrote the prophecy of Daniel the Rapture was not in evidence. All that Daniel could see was the seventy weeks that were determined upon his people Israel and upon the city of Jerusalem. He could no more see the _____________ between the sixty-ninth week and the seventieth week than the Old Testament people could see the ______ between the first coming and second coming of Christ. Daniel 9:24-27 – Quite literally the text refers to a “seven” or “sevens.” The Hebrew Scholar H. C. Leupold stated that we have here “‘seventy heptads.’ A ________ is simple a collection of seven things, used in the same way as the term ‘dozen’ would be used to represent a collection of twelve things.” God graciously gives a ___________ point for the 490 years. It was the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem. There were three decrees issued with reference to the return of the Jews to Palestine.

Three Decrees The decree of Cyrus (Ezra 1:2-4; 6:3-5) in 537 B.C.
The decree of Artaxerxes (Ezra 7:11-16) in 458 BC. The decree of Artaxerxes (Nehemiah 2:5-8,17-18) in 444 B.C. The start date for this prophecy must be the third decree. Sir Robert Anderson gives the date for the third decree was given on _______________ B.C. (Nisan 1, 445 B.C.) and calculates the sixty-nine week to have been completed on ____________________ Nisan 10, A.D. 32). This was the date of the Triumphal Entry of Christ which was immediately followed by His __________ and crucifixion. Just a few short years after the crucifixion, Paul articulates the reality of a Gentile ___________ in the prophetic scheme. He and Barnabas explained their ministry to the Gentiles at a meeting with the apostles in Jerusalem. (Acts 15:12-21) Paul is not suggesting that God is __________ with the Jews; quite the contrary. After this God will turn again to His people. (Isa. 59:20,21) The Tribulation will begin with a _______ between a prince that is to come (Antichrist) and the people of Israel. It is to be a seven year covenant. (Daniel 9:27)

It is during this time that the Temple will be ________, worship will resume, and Israel will be lured into a ________ security. (Eze. 38:11) In the middle of the week Antichrist will break his treaty with Israel. In so doing He will _________ the Temple. Our Lord clearly indicated the desecration was yet future. (Mat. 24:15) The man of sin installs himself in the temple as the object of _________. (2 Th. 2:3,4) This usurpation will mark the mid-point of the Tribulation dividing it into two periods of three and one half years (Daniel 7:25; 12:7; Revelation 12:14) or forty two months and 1,260 days (Revelation 11:2; 13:5; 11:3; 12;6). The last half of the Tribulation will be a time of unparalleled _____________ of the Jewish people. (Mat. 24:9, 22 ) Once again it is important to recognize that the Tribulation is primarily about God reducing His people to ___________ and faith so that they may be restored to all the benefits of His _____ covenant with them. It should be remembered that very existence of the nation of Israel after all these centuries of time is a testimony to the faithfulness of God and the ________ of prophecy. (Rom. 9:1-5)

Where? Most certainly the Tribulation will be world-wide in scope. It will affect _______ human being. (Rev. 3:10; Zec. 14:1-3) The judgments rendered during the Tribulation affect the oceans, the continents, and the masses of world population. There will be no ______ havens, no places of respite, and alleviation.
