2. Student-led Discussion, Act 3
First the inner circle will discuss and the outer circle will observe. If you are in the outer circle take notes, both on content and on the participants and how well you think the discussion is working.
Then we will switch – the outer circle will discuss the text and the inner circle will take notes.
Finally we will debrief the process.

3. Spiderweb Discussion
S = Synergetic = Collaborative, group effort with a single group grade
P = Process = Must be practiced and hones
I = Independent = You work independently, I watch and give feedback
D = Developed = A developed, sustained discussion that aims to get somewhere
E = Exploration = Exploration of ideas, texts or questions through discussion
R = Rubric = Clear, Specific Rubric against which you can self assess
